Authorship of the poem in its original form (with two verses) is not entirely clear, but it is largely considered to have been written by Mary Elizabeth Frye (1904-2004). The middle verse was added in 2007 by Lucie Storrs. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. Do not stand at my grave and mourn. I am the dew-flecked grass at dawn.
